Cheap project: 2001 Ninja 500 EX500 in Central CT

This was my first bike, I bought it from my roommate’s brother in 2006.
He was the original owner, I bought it from him with just under 10k miles on it.
I sold it to my brother as his first bike around 2012 with maybe 25k.
In 2015, I brought him to Thompson TTD, where he had a lowside in Turn 4 (CCW) that cracked the upper fairing.
He didn’t ride it much after that, then moved a couple times - it’s been sitting in our parents shed for the past few years and they want it gone.

The pics are from today (5/11).
Mice have made it their home, there’s turds all over it, will need a thorough cleaning and going-through.
The keys are at my brother’s house so I couldn’t check out under the seat or in the tank.
Bike is located in Central CT (06489), I’ll get the keys and title from him this week.
I would love to hang onto it for sentimental reasons, but I’ve got neither time nor space.

    Asking $400 OBO

These are becoming classics. If I didn't have too much non-running crap, I'd take it.
