Funny ad. Well priced IMO
I know the guy selling that bike. Smart kid and put a lot of work into it.
Looks like a dece deal esp if the mileage is true
I know that bike! Good price too.
Friend: man riding this really hurts my balls
Me: Well you're not supposed to sit on your balls!
Thanks guys!
This is my machine.
Unfortunately, none of you will probably be interested in it. The price is very high for as it currently sits and I'm very stubborn on selling it. I don't want it to go. But if someone really wants a CB-1 and is willing to put up what I am asking I'll let it go. Chances are good I'm going to end up dis-assembling it and boxing it up for a few years until I can really get down to it. Unfortunately my life priorities are moving far away from riding, but I'll be back someday! Hopefully sooner than later.
About the mileage. It isn't true. But I figure it can't be far off. This machine was stolen in 1989 when it was brand new. In the theft the original gauges were broken off and replaced with the current ones which read about 44xx miles off the top of my head. The title is marked as "THEFT RECOVERY, ODO DISCREPANCY, MILEAGE UNKNOWN". This is NOT a salvage title, but it is a blemish on the title for sure. I had no issues getting it insured, nor was I hit with any penalties for this title issue. Personally I was comfortable buying the bike like this because I believe it's more important that a machine is maintained on time versus how many miles were on it. I also believe it can't have much more than that amount of miles because when I bought this machine it was apparent to me it had done a LOT of sitting. I've done a lot of the hard work, but you'd have to be okay with buying something that has the true miles unknown.
The good news is I've had it all apart and it never appears to have been wrecked. Frame, forks and wheels are all straight. No broken or cracked engine mounts anywhere which is a common issue with these bikes when they are wrecked. As long as I've owned it I have never dropped it either, but I have come damn close a few times!
And yeah, it's very uncomfortable. I don't fit on it very well, which bums me the hell out. I can't ride it for more than 10 miles without being in excrutiating pain in the legs when it comes time to stop at a light. Feels great when I'm in motion, but I am guaranteed to wreck it someday because I won't be able to get my legs down in time because the bike makes me so sore. I'm sure that would be alleviated if I put the stock bars back on, but I love the feel of it in motion with the clip ons. Shouldn't be as big of an issue for a shorter person, I am 6'2", most of my height in my legs and they are destroyed from years of abusive athletic activities. Would make an awesome track day machine!
