96 Yamaha VMAX600XT snowmobile

Sumbitch! With over 5' of snow up here this season already, I'm incredibly tempted. Coupla questions:

-Electric start?
-Reverse?
-What size paddles on the track?
-The clutch isn't wunna those 'all or none' jobbys is it?

No to number 1 and 2. Yamaha does sell them but I never wanted to upgrade as it always started on 1 or 2 pulls. The only time it takes more pulls is when you let it sit for a week or longer but it always started within 10-15 pulls. The track is in pretty good shape, paddles probably around 2 inches. The clutch kicks in around 3500rpm. I need to look for the paperwork on it to make sure of that but it is not "all or none".

I'm very interested. You say the carbs need cleaning and it'll run great once it's tuned. Can ya elaborate on that a bit? I'm pretty much a newbie to this sled thing...

I never added stabil and the carbs are gunked and gas will not flow through right now. I have no problems starting it with starting fluid.

No trailer anymore and I have someone looking at it tomorrow and a couple others interested. If it does not sell in the next couple of days I will find a trailer and bring her up and get it going and take her north for a weekend with ya. I do miss riding it!

First off what do you need a trailer for you have a pickup truck. I bet you could find a couple of guys to help lift it into your truck.

Second, I have a trailer you are more than welcome to borrow if you need to bring the sled up our way to get the carbs cleaned up. Let me know if you need it and we will figure it out and make it happen.

The bike has not sold (but is for sale and I will repost come spring), the sled I cannot really ride too much do to the back (age showing itself)...married life is great.

update: Sled is running good at idle.., front end is rebuilt with new plastics and shims and wrist pins (New in stock at dealer)....chassis all lubed(20 Zerks WTF)and bogies. Gas flush and cleaned....seat..new bottom, oil filled ready to sling snow...few more tie ups and a final run on the lake for a tune and we should be set....thanks dude

Great to hear! I knew it just needed a little tlc since it sat for for a couple of years. I do remember lubing it wasn't hard but it took a lot of grease. Glad it found a good home!

You still interested in the track stand or should I throw it up for sale?

Hey, just got back from the Lake and the sled does 87 and still pulled hard.All went well.....I don't know if I can make it today but I def want it and will set up a day soon..still app very much....
