I just bought (note: I legitimately BOUGHT this bike) from a guy who said he was a mechanic and the original owner downed it, brought it to him, and never came and got it. So he was sitting on it for a few years.
Full race bodywork, Yosh slip-on, 10,500 miles, vortex rear sets.
NO TITLE which is why it's a track only. Vin number is there, keys and all.
Front rim is bent, needs brake lever, and it'll need a stator cover. I started it, it runs. Old gas, old tires. I'm gonna give it a better look over and better idea of exactly what it needs, but it has the potential to be a track weapon, I think. Pics to come.
Since this is a feeler, I'll say $2800

Edit: I misstated when I mentioned it needed the stator cover. It's the starter cover, the one on the upper right side(brake) of the engine.

Update:
After doing some research, it didn't seem like Carfax really deals with motorcycle VIN. Or it's a shot in the dark, sometimes they work sometimes they don't? I dunno. Regardless I went to
cyclechex.com after I read some good reviews. All said and done, from what the report says, the title is free and clear, amazingly enough.
If its a CT title prob is, they are one of the easy states......either way just call any DMV and run the VIN they will tell you if its clean or not...

You should apply for the title. It'd give you more options and make the bike worth more $
I'm considering it. From what I remember from looking into it (years ago) it takes upwards of 6 months and it requires something like 3 un-answered certified letters to the original owner, which is another issue, don't know who it is or what the address is. So, in the interim, if anyone wants it, I'll sell it strictly as a track bike, for cheap!
If anyone is interested, I will PM/email the VIN number and/or the report I got.

Still for sale, weather is getting nice.....could make a great track bike! And beside, I have my eye on a fully built 1993 Orient Express motored cbr900rr that is CHERRY and would sit great in my living room! hahah
Still for sale....picked up a straight front rim and tire for it, so that's no longer an issue.
I officially put in an offer for a house so cash is king.... $1850 delivered within 60 miles
...how it can be a legit sale if the mechanic never got a mechanic's lean/title? He was never authorized to sell it in the first place?
When I say legit sale to me, I mean I got his info to cover my ass. Title came back clean and clear on the reports I've gotten on it. It's a track bike.....for CHEAP.
