*Bike has been sold -- headed to New Hampshire.*
Hey, all. I am posting this for a friend, Sarah, but I know the bike well, performed the maintenance, and have ridden it on several occasions.
Sarah says:
"The Bike:
--2007 Suzuki SV 650
~1800 miles; title in hand; bike runs perfectly.
--Bike is in Needham, MA
I hate to see it go, but am moving and would rather it be ridden than hidden in storage.
Includes:
--Newish Conti RoadAttack Rear tire, with less than 300 miles
--Frame sliders, tank protector, and swingarm spools
--Paperwork, owner's manual, including recorded maintenance log
--2 keys
--Cover
--Toolkit
Excellent condition -- (see photos) -- no scratches, dents, or other, with the exception of the extra-long frame sliders, which have some slight scratching from 2 _Zero mph_ driveway drops before the bike was lowered. Note: that is not a dent on the front fender but rather just sun off the headlight; the paint is in perfect condition.
*I said sold, son!*
$4000 or best offer, serious inquiries only please."
I add:
We lowered this bike in the way we felt best preserved the bike's handling:
1. We installed aftermarket suspension links (dog bones) that lowered the rear 3/4".
2. We dropped the front triples on the tubes the same 3/4". (So the bike was lowered the same distance front and back.)
3. We shaved the seat, removing about 3/4"-1" of foam. The shaving was done from underneath, so the seat's shape and look was unchanged.
Overall, the bike feels like it was lowered 1.5"-2", but as far as the geometry goes, it was only lowered 3/4". This meant the kickstand did not have to be altered. I rode it before and after lowering and frankly couldn't notice any difference in handling. As it sits, it would be a perfect bike for someone shorter, a beginning rider, or another female; however, she has the stock dog bones, and it would be an easy process for someone to return the bike to stock height.
Feel free to PM me any questions about the bike's maintenance and the lowering. All other questions -- including scheduling a look -- can be sent directly to Sarah: ssiracus at gmail.com (And, if you want to make moves on the bike quickly and haven't heard back from her, PM me and I will provide her cell number.)
