So i've been cleaning out my garage recently and I realized i've got way too many helmets. I think i've got 15 all together and I only use maybe 4 regularly. A lot of them are older and a little beat up, but some of them are still pretty nice. I'd like to get something out of them, but some i'll sell dirt cheap. I'll be adding more to this thread as I get them cleaned up and snap some pics. All of these will be available for local vermont pick up, pick up at any LRRS event, or shipping for an additional $10. I'll also include a helmet bag with all helmets.
First up, an old Arai Quantum/f. Black size XL.
The bad: It's old. Don't know the exact date, but probably 10 years old. It's missing the two rear top vents, the side covers are matte black, which don't match the glossy black. The helmet also has its fair share of scratches and I think the inner liner has been glued to the shell so it's no longer removable.
The good: It's an Arai... it's snell rated (2000) and still pretty comfortable.
Price: $30
Next up is an HJC SY-MAX II modular helmet with internal sun visor. Black size Large.
The good: This thing is basically brand new. It has maybe been used 3 or 4 times. There are some minor scratches on the shell from being moved around in the garage but that's it. I just looked it up online, looks like this helmet sells for about $200 new online.
The bad: Nothing really..... great inexpensive modular.
Price: $90 - PENDING SALE
Next is an HJC AC-12 Carbon Spies (Elbowz) replica. Size Large. SOLD
The good: Pretty good shape, some minor blemishes on the outer shell. Inner liner is in good shape. Carbon helmet, Snell 2005, manufactured June 2006. Looks like the shield was replaced recently, in very good shape. This helmet has had its fair share of usage, but is in good shape. All vents/shield mechanisms are in good working shape.
The bad: Some minor blemishes/scratches on the outer shell. There is also some residue on the back of the helmet that I think will come off with some cleaner. Helmet has some miles on it and the liner is broken in.
Ok next up, HJC CL-15 Black size XL. Set-up for snow, but for an extra $10 i'll include the shield to convert it back to street.
The good: Excellent shape. Used maybe 2-3 times. Very few scratches. Comes with winter breath box/snow shield. Snell 2005, manufactured May 2007.
The bad: Not brand new, but pretty damn close.
Price: $50 + 10$ for street shield. PENDING SALE
Ok next, HJC CS-R1 Black size Medium.
The good: Relatively new, manufactured Feb 2009. I think it has a little bit of use, but the shell is in excellent condition. Really no scratches at all. Other than that, this is just a good, basic DOT approved full face helmet.
The bad: Some residue on the HJC logo on the front of the helmet. I think it will come off easily with some goo gone. Nothing really bad about the shape of this helmet, it is just a basic DOT approved helmet, nothing fancy, no bells and whistles.
Price: $30
Ok, that's all i've got cleaned up right now, will post up the rest when I get a chance, I think I have 3 or 4 more.
