I'm not sure what the deal with 1.5 is, but I did a quick google search, and apparently people complain of it dropping connection too often.

Evile, do you know what the deal with this router is? I can't honestly sell it if it's not going to work.

The WRT54G is almost legendary in its reliability and quality.
It is certainly worth $20 if not a bit more.

One of the best features of the WRT54Gx is that there are several "brands" of firmware that have been written by very accomplished programmers.
They add a few cool features like the ability to increase the gain on the wireless transmitters.

Three versions of the WRT54G2 have been released. 1.0, 1.3 and 1.5
The least desirable version is 1.5 because 3rd party firmware can not be loaded onto it.

If you are not interested in reflashing the firmware the 1.5 version is just as good as earlier versions.

It's more of a computer geek/hacker thing.
Some people like to hotrod their cars, some like to overclock their PCs, unlock their cellphones and flash the firmware of their digital devices.

It should work just fine the way it is.

It will work fine for xbox and everything, I am looking for something to run dd-wrt which is an open source router firmware replacement and it won't work on 1.5

other than that this is a great router and a steal at $20!
