Hoping the EX Mafia that hangs around on NESR can help a coworker out. He has an EX500 that he uses to commute on but his rear shock is leaking oil and he wants to get it fixed. He doesn't want to spend the the $250+ it would take to get a brand new one and from talking to Peter at GMD he can't get it rebuilt. So, does anyone have a stock rear shock for an EX500, that isn't broken, that they wouldn't mind parting with for a modest fee.
Thank you,
Joel
What year ?
Dollar bill has one from a 91, He would most likely part with,

I'm pretty sure I've got one in one of the boxes of parts. Like anyone else, he's more than welcome to dig through and take whatever is in there.
It's a '94. Does the shock change from year to year or is it the same part for all of the EX 500s?
Joel
Same for all.
Aftermarket shocks are different though.

Yeah, I think the shock stayed the same, but the swingarm changed when they went to the 17" wheels in 94. So some aftermarket shocks are different for the 87-93 models than the 94+ models. But the stock shock remained the same as it fit both swingarms. Right Clayton?
Yup!
