Pay someone to tune it, then don't touch 'em. Same net effect. Probably still cheaper.
For a track/race bike, at least for someone on a budget, I can't understand why you would ever go EFI.
Carbs really aren't that bad once you get used to them, I could probably pull clean and reinstall them on my 95 in an hour or less. And I've only done it a handful of times.

Plus, we're talking about a V-twin. There are only two carbs and they are easy to get to. Not like a large I4 packed into a small frame or a 6 or something.
(I say that as a guy who bought a very well tuned SV that hasn't required much more than a splash of seafoam so far.)
