Having ridden Scott's gen 1 FZ1 for a couple days I can tell you they are excellent bikes. Comfortable, smooth, fast.
Jealous of whoever ends up with this bike. Its amazing.![]()
I keep looking at these thinking that's what I should be riding these days.
Sweet bike
unless he wants to trade for an RC51, there isn't much buying I can do at the moment.

Insanely clean...you ain't kidding, actually, that's an understatement.
I had an '03. GREAT machines. Fully adjustable suspension, all-day comfort, excellent fuel range and plenty of scoot.
I'd love to have another but it just isn't the right time for me.

+1. Seems like a fit for me, and I am bikeless. But too much like my old Bandit, and I'm trying to find something different this time 'round. But wow. Even fits my budget.
Do it.
Would this be a comfortable bike to ride with a passenger for several hours?
Riding the GSX-R with a passenger (or hell - even without) for more than an hour is no fun.

The FZ1 has a much more neutral seating position than a sportbike, but still aggressive enough to tear up some corners. That said, any naked/standard bike with a 2-person seat would be WAY more comfortable to ride with a passenger for extended periods compared to a sportbike.

'Comfortable' is such a relative term.
My better half was reasonably comfortable on my Bandit, and it had a similar layout. Although she now claims she'd be far more comfortable on something with a backrest. I found the Bandit ergos wanting for long rides. My wrists ached and my back started to get sore. Others thing it has fantastic ergos.
$4500 Now why would I need to buy this bike?![]()
Melissa and I have done multiple 700+ mile weekends on my Gen 1, stock seat.
In comparison, she has a grand total of 30 seconds on my buddy's 2004 R-6; positively awful for carrying a passenger.. We trade bikes often during long rides. If she's along, she stays on the FZ; can't stand the R-6.
She's a trooper though.
