Nice leather pants. I purchased this on sale and they are too big, probably like size 32. I am size 30 US. They didn't have size 46. Same exact as this link

I'm guessing those knee pads wouldn't be sufficent for aggressive use at the track?

There is knee protection, but on the inside. Honestly, too nice looking to take to the track and probably not the best track pants.

Still wouldn't take it to the track - would buy something cheaper with thicker less supple leather. these are really nice and I wish were smaller.

Are these made to go over or under boots?

Either. There is a zipper and a membrane. I would suspect that for a racing boot you would not be able to fit it inside the pants, but for a thin top touring type boot you may. I didn't try so far since they were just too big
