Since I bought it I have done:
Front tires - Goodyear Eagle RSA's
Coolant cross pipe, using VW coolant, thermostat and housing, gaskets etc.

That engine is so much damned fun.
Everyone should own a vr6 at some point in their lifes...even if its a 12v.
My god the noise it makes is beautiful.

What's the timing belt 'sitch like with this engine (in general)??
Cliff's Cycles KTM
NETRA enduro B-vet
Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
VRs have a timing chain. My dad did his at 170k on his old passat. If I recall you need to disconnect the tranny and either drop it, or lift the engine up to make the switch.

This car looks great! I was very impressed with the Jetta wagon in 2001, but ended up with the Passat Wagon which I kept for 11 years. The jetta wagon from 2001-2005 were built in Wolfsburg unlike the sedans which were built in Pueblo, MX.
