    My wife is about 5'4" 135, 34B, athletic build... the jacket is just a little small for her with just a t-shirt underneath.

    probably would work, but might be bit a bit big unless she is chesty. i am built similar to matt's wife, but a couple inches taller and a couple lbs heavier. mine fits me well, so it obviously is cut a bit different.
