2002 sv650 Project/parts Bike
Been dumped but a good race bike perhaps?
Dear track day heros. You want this. Carbs are not scary. This entire bike likely costs less than a single body panel for your expensive street bike.

I can probably go check this out if anyone's serious about buying it

I still have the other one. Don't know what I'm going to do with it yet.

Never able to get a hold of him!!
So who got it
I got it. I am feeling very lucky. I was looking for a track bike, but this is marginaly too nice.
It was a shot in the dark, literally bought it in the dark, brakes frozen, gear shift frozen, ignition and tank locks hopelessly trashed so I couldn't even look in the tank. Rolled it on a rented uhaul trailer and took it home.
Got it running by mid morning the next day. Brakes freed right up with some exercising of the pistons. Left rear set corroded , that was the reason for frozen shifter. Drilled the locks, dumped the fuel, inspected the rear float bowl (clean). Oil looked good, so I fired it up on new fuel with Sea foam. Went right to idle. Stumbled under initial load. Did Plugs (wow what a lot of crap in the front plug channel), oil, freed the choke cable; runs fine drove it around my block. Everything works. Washed it and it looks GREAT. Seems stock except for Hindle can and shit mufflershop extension between factory headers and can, Aftermarket bars, stainless brake lines.
Needs: tires, new locks installed ($32 from Cali!; I hope they are decent quality), chain and sprockets, and rearset on clutch side. Scuff on rear plastic, tach housing and left handlebar.
SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE! See you at the track in the spring.
I am going to start another thread with some questions on outfitting it. BTW - if anyone wants to give me $400 for the perfect tank, I'll sell it and put a beater on it! That would make a great story.

Stolen from the shadows by a lurker. Nice! Good job getting it going, I love doing that stuff![]()
