SV650 1st gen race bike Part out

A buddy just informed me he is parting out an SV that he has. Looks to have some descent race parts unfortunately nothing I can use on my bike. Thought I’d pass the info along.


His name is Dennis (203-215-3978) and is a very good guy. You should be able to get some good deals on any parts. I think he’s located in Milford CT. get it confused with New Milford.

Doe's the bike run? or are there issues with the motor?

I believe he said it does not run.....doesn’t even turnover so he was going to look into it. I know nothing about it’s history.

I had a quick chat with Dennis and can confirm: he's a nice guy! He'd rather sell the bike as-is than have to disassemble it, so if anyone's interested in a project this looks like an interesting opportunity.

Thanks to Tas for originally putting this post up.

Had to join the forum so I could update and clear some things up. This is by no means a track ready bike. Tires are new, has Hindle under seat exhaust, I believe the front end is 2006 GSXR. Sharkskin body work, needs minor repair on the R/H side. Has a stripped down wire harness, that’s where the problems were.
So, fixed a couple bad connections on the solenoid and ignition box. Bike starts and runs, foot gear is off the bike currently so I can’t tell you how the trans / clutch function.
I think with a bit of work this would be a great track day bike or a good parts bike. That said it needs to be in someone else’s garage. Will sell whole or in parts. Obviously I’d rather have it go in one piece but.... looking to get $750 complete or will part it out, let me know what you need from it. Thanks!

Todd, If you are going to Rice-o-Rama I can toss the stands in the truck, you can grab them up there. I have a couple 5.5 wheels, you need one with a 5 or 6 paddle cush drive?
