Sweet little bike, not the clean blue one I picked up - that one is getting full restoration. I originally picked up my first one for a street bobber, but it was too nice to chop, so I bought a second one (running) for $500 that was suitable for chopping. My travel is going to be booked this winter for work, so I won't get a chance to mod it. Passing on the deal - I head to go as close to Canada as you can get to grab it... Cost me $500, not willing to lose $ on it - $500 for anyone who may want it. If you want to know more about a TX500, look at my other thread. Sweet power in a vintage euro-style 8 valve twin.
This thing runs and drives? I know a girl looking for her first bike. You think this would do it?

Correct. I can snap some pics. The bike is all there - I don't see why everything on the bike couldn't be salvaged, but it isn't going to be a museum bike. Its perfect for a custom job. It's either missing a side cover, or one is cracked. I start it now and then, so that's why I bought it - as the SR500's I was looking at (way more common) were $800 and up and didn't run at all.
No, Just making a joke.
I already have a project for this winter. Starting buying parts to turn the SV into a cool street fighter, "Hopefully"
You should post pics anyways.

OK, not for sale. This email from a random CL guy kind of convinced me to let it collect dust until I can get to it:
fyi
that's a museum motorbike. correct year make and model of the very first japanese dohc in a streetbike. this exact motorbike is at the barber antique motorsport museum. thought you should know... and raise your price...
Puegeot beat Yamaha by a few years, DOHC 500cc parallel twin...
in 1914.
That said, Honda has the honors of the first production DOHC machine AFAIK, with the introduction of the 1965 CB450. The TX500 is more famous for being an automotive styled engine, particularly the head design compared to prior works like the CB450.
Yeah, if I wasn't A) out of spare cash and B) not willing to hack up a vintage machine that was in that good shape with a little rarity to boot I'd be all over your first asking price for endurance racing. I'm really surprised it didn't go within a week.
Thanks for the pic. I'll think about.
Do you have a title? Thanks.
