do you have aftermarket pads? I chased a squishy brake problem around, swapping out calipers, master, lines... only to realize my vesrah pads had a thin backing plate, making the calipers over-extend and be super soft.
new (non-vesrah) pads worked like a charm.
On a side note, if the master you found isn't less than $50, pm me for a cheaper one.
I went from stock --> SBS --> stock.
found that my rotors got glazed from switching pad brands. got the rotors bead blasted, then scuffed up the stock pads. the pads were broken in properly, so I know that's not an issue. I have goodridge SS lines with fresh Maxima DOT4 brake fluid.
I will try the zip tie to the level trick and give bleeding the lines one more try.
at the last pose event, i had a few guys squeeze my lever in comparision to the other gixxer brake levers. they all noticed that it's got a lot more play before the pads grab.
I'm very close to just buying a new RCS M/C off WERA for $300, but I'm getting constant PM's and text saying to just get an OEM M/C.
anyone have any other thoughts of what could be the cause? I feel that i've exchausted all other possibilites. I will try Oreo's suggestion next of bleeding from the master (my master doesnt have a speed bleeder) before replacing the M/C.
Watch out for the $49 dollar brembo's on Ebay Motors from China/Taiwan.
Not watch for but watch out for. Look ma, no brakes.
Money is never wasted in good breaking.....but what ever
