Make sure the frame is long enough. I was going to do this with a ninja 600r engine, but for the work it will take me to cut and extend the frame, i'd rather just build a frame from scratch that would probably be better anyway.

I'm sure you've already looked it up, but you can get 520 sprockets and hubs for shifter karts that mount on the standard 1" axles. Once you get the engine mounted though, everything else should be pretty easy.

Damm, i just sold an older (4-5YRS) shifter cart i had sitting around.The kid i sold it to blew the motor and is doing nothing with it.Let me talk to him, might be able to get it cheap ($100 or so) disc brakes all around, newer slicks...

i really think that an odessy frame or even a shifter kart is gonna be too small. youve got 6 gears and 100+ HP. what you need is a 1 or 2 person "sandrail" type buggy with some long travel suspension for off roading and some 5 points and a full roll cage. trying to put that kinda power to those little shifter kart wheels (and axles) is gonna be hard. how much power do the big shifter karts make? i know they use 250 motors, do they go bigger? even if they used 500 2 strokes, thats not 100hp is it?
