I will be running around with a few of my work peps. I wouldn't miss this one if are on the fence, great ride.
Thanks for the heads up on the route sheet holder, I am tired of buying a new one every year to have it break halfway through.
Bubba...you don't need a GPS...route sheet holder and a odometer. Stop being a boy scout and just ride it.
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Oh! I also noticed a few 'W' tags posted too. They kind of seemed to be in conjunction with the arrow markers. Were those for you clowns too?

Arrows = the right way......."W" = the WRONG way

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure they were in the same direction as the orange arrows in the spot I saw them in. Also starting to notice florescent green arrows now too. The 'W' and green arrows I've only seen on public roads so far...
Is there a map of the course available yet?

They don't make a map of the routes available due to a fear of having dumbasses tearing up private property outside of the event. The most we get are route sheets. I've thought about using a GPS to make a track of the entire route but never got around to doing it.
And here is a link to NETRA's arrowing rules. Since this ride is a turkey run, you won't see mile markers but there will multiple reset points so you can synchronize your odometer to the route sheet:

Makes sense not publishing the maps. There were a few piles of fresh beer cans (Bud Light) in some of the areas we checked out. The 'W' post I saw didn't follow the color combo indicated. The ones I saw were green on a white background, and I'm almost positive they were going with the green background arrows I saw. The green arrows did NOT have NETRA printed on them. Must be something else going on around the same time?
I dunno, just thought I'd pass it along. I'll be taking some backroads through Loudon into Pittsfield & Barnstead this afternoon. I'ma gonna double-check that shit...

The KTM now has a working headlight, tail light, brake light, chain guard, mirror, and the weakest, lamest ass horn you've ever heard. Dealer was no help, had no advice for me. I wound up soldering the leads directly to a 9V battery from my junk drawer. I'm just tired of screwing with this. I wanna ride.
Need to go get a sticker tomorrow, then I'm legit. Nothing like finishing up at the last minute.
Can I register for this Saturday AM? Too much shit left 'til the last minute. I'm not going to be able to get over there Friday PM.
And I still need to figure out a way to pack pre-mix.
Any idea how much fuel I'll go through? 2 tanks? More. (It's like a 2.something gal tank on this thing.)
I just carry a bottle of premix and a Maxima ratio cup and cap in ziplock baggies in my backpack when doing trail rides. Top off at fuel stops, and add oil to the tank to match. My friends get entertained as I shake the bike by the bars to mix things up and then off we go again.
The site for the ride lists check-in / registration times and notes that you can only get in Friday evening if you're pre-reg'd so that to me says yes, you can reg Saturday.
I almost wish I hadn't agreed to score for the USCRA Saturday... I could have smoked my CC and had my Katooom ready to roll too. Bah.
They let people register Friday night. I think the only pre-reg'ed people thing is for camping.
I know Bill drove over and registered Friday night last year. At least I think he did.
I was asking more for logistics. This is a popular event and I was wondering if it was feasible to wait until Saturday.. or if I should make an effort to drive over Friday PM. I could do it, but it would make for a long night before a long day.
I'll just pack the maxima cup. Then find something small enough to carry 3-4 tanks worth of oil.
You can register Saturday morning no problem. Tomorrow is my off Friday so I'll be heading up to register then. I don't know how your 200 is with fuel but I know from past years that most 2t bikes go through twice as much fuel as my 500 4t. There are a couple of gas stops along the way so you shouldn't have any problem. MVTR also has a chase truck with emergency fuel should it ever become an issue. Freedom Cycle also has a mobile garage in a trailer that will be at the lunch stops in case you need tires, tubes, common parts, etc.
For carrying things, my generic camelback is also a small backpack which holds my tool kit, phone, wallet, and other odds and ends. Put your phone and keys in plastic bags since there will be some areas that are wet.
All I have left to do is tighten my chain. I snapped my kickstand off a few weeks ago and replaced it with a Promoto Billet model. It's way better than stock.

I forgot to add that I try and get there around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday as the gates open so I'm not in a rush first thing in the morning.
I'll be driving a silver Nissan Armada with a Harbor Freight trailer.

I'll be there early Saturday too.
I sprang for a new, higher capacity camelbak after dehydrating myself riding with Bill last weekend. I still need to put together a tool kit. Ya'll forgive me now, but I'll be the under-prepared dipshit on this outing.
Those 2t guys using a lot of fuel are probably not candy-asses with the right grip like I am.
I'll be carrying my larger camelbak with plenty of tools...probably too many. Between the 3L of ice water, tools, spare tube, tire irons, hand pump, phone, wallet etc, i bet the thing weighs 12 -15 lbs. I'm basically ready to go. Air filter done today. Gonna change the oil, clean and check chain tomorrow (Working at home on Friday's is nice). Haven't decided if i'll go up Friday and register, or just wait till Saturday AM. I''ll probably sleep better if I get the registration done on Friday, then no real rush for Saturday AM.

I was there at 4:00 and got registered and renewed my NETRA membership. I was without the bike so I'll do tech in the morning. It only takes 30 seconds.

That was fun. Lets do it again tomorrow.
Don't forget that the starting time is 9:15 on Sunday so you can show up an hour later. I'll be targeting 8:00-8:15.

I did forget that. Or maybe I didn't know that in the first place.
Here is the link to the tie-downs I bought: Amazon.com: POWERTYE 29629-S Black/Orange 1-1/2" x 6' Soft-Tye Secure Latch Tie-Down with Integrated Soft Hook and Cam Buckle: Automotive
They also make a ratchet strap if you prefer that over the cam buckle type.
