We have a 2022 Husqvarna TC50 with 99 hours on it, so its time for a top end. Can any of you request a good top end kit? No catastrophic failure so I don't think I need a cylinder. I believe I need to go one size up? Piston, wrist pin, bearing, and gaskets? OEM? Thanks!

Weisco Piston

i would go with Vertex, which is most likely the OEM maker. at almost 100hrs, i'd go with the CD size (AB was stock) and yes, def get the full kit. AOMC sells a complete Vertex kit for ~$113.
the manual calls for changing the connecting rod, bearing, and crank pin at 80hrs but i would personally just freshen up with a standard top end kit unless you find excessive play once torn down.
EDIT: btw, the Wiseco piston is most likely forged, i would go with cast in a tiny 2T motor. lighter weight, plenty durable.

Dunno how helpful this will be for you, but found this: https://fortnine.ca/assets/pdf/verte...TK_Install.pdf
Digging into it more this morning, looks like we need a special tool, so not going to make the race this Saturday.

bah, just figure out what base gasket is stock and match it. you'll need to measure with calipers. sometimes you can measure the old one to get close if you can't find spec. i wouldn't worry about ring gap either, just figure out the right base gasket and bolt it all back up. use some 2T oil on the bearing and cylinder walls as assembly lube.

...btw, if you've never done a top end before, be very careful how you put the ring on, needs to close in the correct spot. also be careful how you set the circlips in, they will go flying never to be seen again OR you'll scratch the shit out of the piston trying to insert. take your time or watch a tutorial.
funny story, i had a circlip go flying while doing a top-end on my CR125. fucking thing shot right at my eye and hooked my eyelid. thought i was gonna be blind. scary. wear safety glasses![]()
