I have been doing some research and I think I am going to try a couple in the fall. Anybody on here do these? Maybe looking for someone I can train/ride with and go the races. Any takers? I have a trailer that can accommodate two dirty bikes.
I am going to the one on October 10th in Sterling. If you want to meet up I'll be in a red truck with a white cagiva.

Anyone planning on doing any riding ahead of time? Need to get the KTM out!
seems the guys in here are more into practice MX days/races and recreational woods riding

I have raced several Hare Scrambles, but was never a "regular".
My best advice: Make sure your bike is in good, reliable, shape. You will be nervous on the starting line, but do not start off at 100%, after the start. The races are l-o-n-g. Ride at 75%, to be sure that you have some energy for that last loop. Yes, folks will fly by you in the beginning, but as the race goes on, you will start picking them off, one by one, and climbing back up the ranks.
Arrive early, to get signed up, and prep your bike and gear.
And...be nice - if a guy comes up behind you and yells "TRAIL!" or anything else, pull off to the side and let him by. Somewhere, there is a Championship at stake, and you do not want some total stranger coming up to you after the race giving you an earfull.
Riding at 75% will Keep It Fun, and that is what it is all about.
