Seems as though that is the highest recommended setup.

    Oh? By whom?

I've been extremememly happy with my Warn set-up. It's been in use as long as my ATV's been alive and I've never had a problem with it...

But there ARE a ton of 'em out there now and they all look vaguely similar. Well, except the Warns. They just appear to be SO much better...

Just don't buy it from an Arab and make sure it has a 520 chain.

I have a Moose set up on mine and it works awesome. The biggest thing is it's heavy duty and the added weight from the heavy duty plow helps keep the plow down and cut into the snow.
If I were to buy another one, i'd get the minute mount by Moose. Same plow, but the frame is different and bolts to the front of the ATV rather than under it..it also allows you to raise the plow up much higher.

Check your local bike/ATV dealer, you may be surprised how much they may discount one now to make a sale

Another important thing to consider is width. You may sacrifice maneuverability a bit with the longer ones, but that may not be a factor for most, especially if you won't be plowing in tight places. Yeah, the smaller ones may make it easier to push snow simply because it won't be pushing as much. But run the smaller ones at full angle and you may have problems negotiating where you intend to plow. Be certain that even at full angle you'll still be clearing a path the width of your ATV. And given the amount of snow we get up here, you WILL be running it at full angle...
