hey guys, today was a great day riding. I had a blast
I particularly want to thank Mark for showing Tim and I the trails and taking us on our first (of hopefully, many more!) dirty ride!![]()
Tim and Mark swapped with each other on the WR250 and YZ250 2-smokers, I had the XR80R thumper (which I hope to bolt the seat down next time!):

I was there for a couple hours on Saturday, been riding there for years. That is one of the smoothest trails in the place!
awesome Pics. Great day today. Nice meeting you!
I'd also like to point out, for the record, this picture is literally the 1st time I have ever been on a dirt bike...and yes it was on a 250 2 smoker!

If you can't Race it or take it to bed, it's not worth having..
When is the next trip to Oxford? It's reasonable close to me so I'd like to check it out sometime![]()

Sweet pics guys - glad you had fun.
Tim - you look like SUPERMAN on that thing IMO
Thinking of you Biggity - I keep shaking my head to Stacey saying "I just can't believe he snapped his wrist". Such a bummer.

haha. Glad everyone had fun. You guys did great today and I'm glad I could help create a couple of dirt junkies. Awesome to meet you today Bhavesh, you kept that XR moving right along. I can see a bigger bike in your furture, beats rolling around the yard?
Tim, well done buddy. Told you it was fun and would teach you all about throttle control. Moment of the day, if you've been to Oxford, you've seen the one large hill, lot of roots/rocks, but at a few points it looks like someone tried to create stairs with railroad ties. I make the hill and pull off to the side "just in case", Bhavesh makes the hill and pulls off.Now keep in mind, Tim has about 5 minutes worth of dirt experience at this point. He came up that hill spending more time on the rear wheel. The front was just up, down, up, down. Everytime it comes up, it's going higher. I thought he was going to make it, last 10 feet he caught one of the ties, front came up and you could just hear the gas roll on. Mike, I will give you the bike launch win for difficulty, but Tim gets the style, speed and distance points hands down. Best part about watching a new rider is the first crash when they jump right up grinning ear to ear.
Next time I'm headed out there I'll start a thread. Be great to meet some more new people

Sounds like an awesome time, I will be there this coming Sunday, most likely late morning. I will be riding a KTM and my old man will be on a KX250.
Rocks and roots? That looks like one of the smoothest dirt roads around.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
ya that section is fun too, also pretty open, that falls in my 10%. I have been riding there pretty consistently for about 8 years, it has changed alot recently as they have cut new trails and logging roads. I usually only get to ride a couple hours at a time but i'm usually exhausted by the end. I could certainly lead a ride there but I wouldnt recommend my loop for beginners.
I was beat after an hour and half of different types of riding ..... jumps, whoops, soft sand, topping out in 5th, hill climbing, and single track switchbacks.

not sure when I will be able to go but can try to fit it in if there is a date you all are going. or even if there is only a couple of ppl going I can / could even take my whip to work and stop after 4 pm as I drive right by this place on my way home from work. just don't like riding alone out there .... the place is sooo big you could be down and out for a really long time before any one came by.

Looks like this sunday is no good. just got this off thumpertalk.
Sat anyone?
Hey guys, next Sunday there is a horse event going on down there, they expect over a 140 horses. So try to ride Saturday or head for one of our many other state owned areas!!I do not mind sharing trails but it seems like whenever somebody wants to stage an event,Mt bike race or horse event, they show up and shut us down with little warning. We need to try to get Rutland state park opened up again.Hope this saves someone a long drive for no reason.
