Right tool for the job. Get the machine for the kind of riding you want to do. Don't bother perverting the wrong one to the task.
The TTR or CRF150 seem like fine choices to me. I suspect the shortcomings would be obvious; basic suspension unworthy of real upgrades and lack of power for climbs. Fine at the start when paddling hills and rolling bumps. Notsomuch as you gain experience and try to wick it up. Notice that Josh's TTR has suspension upgrades many of us would never have even thought of applying. His offering is-IMO-unique in that respect.
I would definitely opt for Josh's finely fettled TTR over the Craigslist "bargains" that have never ever been maintained or stored out of the elements, much less improved.

Josh's bike looks super clean and worth every penny! But I'm keeping my options open. Anyway, I need to sell the GS or find a super deal, my wife will kill me if I drop $1,500 on a fourth bike while she's hounding me to take us on vacation.![]()

Take her to exotic Waterboro when you come to buy the bike! See our Hannaford, experience two different ice cream stands (possibly a third depending on timing), shop at the shaker market, um... that's it. Wait, we have Vandy's and Blast from the Past!
HahaFunny, my wife's from Lyman/Biddeford. But the ice cream... my girls love them some ice cream!

That's funny. My cousin and her husband live in Lyman. You forgot about going to funky bow and getting some beer and pizza :p

I wish I had a picture of me when I was 18 and 130 pounds with my YZ 250. It did not know it had a pilot on board. Lol.
