Just another dirt road ride on a cold day in october ,
we got a late start on the day and headed out on the local loop
about as far west as wendell via dirt roads
ran into a guy at our lunch stop that I have ridden with before from ADV had lunch with him and parted ways . we were headed back home , I decided to make it a bit mor " interesting "
then once I got my bike through I took the wifes bike through to avoid a costly "tip over"
as it would be one thing to rip through here on a dirt bike but when you are pushing over 400 + its a bit trickier
its funny that ihave the blue riding gear but the black bike .
hopefully this cold snap is short lived and we can get out again with out bundling up . But the heated gear makes it tollerable .
short day today but still nice to get out .

Now that's one way to make a leisurely street ride more interesting...
Since I'm a noob, I typically hate riding on loose rocks like that. The suspension on my XR usually bottoms out, the bike bounces all over the place, and falling, definitely hurts.
Were you in 1st gear and paddle walking the bike over?
Or could you stand up, stay on the gas, and let the suspension deal with the imperfections?
That would be fun to see!![]()
Wow that's nuts! Where were you?
Its a dirt road out near hardwick that washed out this spring , I have been down that section on my 250 before , stand up on the pegs and go through in 1st , but I did fall over as most of the rocks in the first section are about the size of basket balls .
I went back a few months ago and moved a few rocks around so we could get the big bikes through, you have to go realy slow and paddle through the first section of big rocks or you will defintley bottom out the suspension and more than likely break stuff , but the second half you can stand up and ride it out . Its a nice section of road this time of year if you are getting cold, it warms you rigth up .

I am not sure I would call that a dirt road.
well once you get past that washed out section is a really nice twistie dirt road with no houses on it for about 2 miles .
here is that same section back in march before it got really washed out
we were on much smaller bikes though
this is right after the wash out where its actually a nice road
although the ice made it , " interesting"

it was a Public road as were these , although not maintained for winter use
I figured with the snow that is falling right now I would post a few from the spring

Have I been on that washout road before? It looks like the same road that washed out in the floods a couple years ago and you, Leah, Bob M and myself were riding down the unwashed out section on one of the banks? I may even have a picture somewhere, have to look

No you are thinking of this one
