Well sort of.
We were going to go out and buy the armored undershirt type stuff so we could wear it under a jacket for cooler weather riding. I have heard complaints that its too hot for summer riding so we are still
keeping the mx style over type we have for the hotter months.

We went down to brockton cycles today and ended up getting a feild shear jacket it has hard elbow and shoulder armor and the back pad is really thick, much thicker than most other street jackets I have seen Its a textile jacket with a removeable liner.

So basically I got the protection I was lookig for for the type of trail riding we do. the best part is that it was

Sean..is it called the Sub Zero or something similar? alittle longer...ends @ top of thigh? i bought that jacket for cold weather riding. It's warm and comfy with nice protection...great price

No, its a waist length jacket, I saw some 3/4 length ones there for a little more money but they didn't have the same back protection, the foam was a lot thinner and the elbow and shoulder armor was soft, not hard plastic like this one.
Either way you can't beat the price.

I was looking at other dirt riding jackets online and most didn't offer any armor you would have to get the body armor suit to go with it and most of the jackets were atleast twice the price.

The only down side is that size selection is limited. There are not every size available in every style.
