Crow Hill MX, Thursday 10/19

Anyone for some late afternoon into early evening riding around the track? I'm lookin into going since it will be the last chance I have to ride MX this year. Stupid pats game in buffalo....grumble grumble....

Right now I'm shooting for MX207 on Wed. If the weather doesn't look so hot for that I might try Crow Hill or Rocky Hill on Tuesday.

How late in the season is Rocky Hill open? According to their website, they should already be closed? Or was it the end of this month?

Same with Crow, 10/31. Mx207 shuts their water off 10/31 but you can ride until the ground freezes basically.

I went tonight for a few hours.

1. No traction as the place was a swamp with at least half of the track being full of water and Jello mud.

2. I cleared the doubles almost every time, including my first lap.

3. That sand is nasty! I fell once after my front end got caught in it.

4. Crashing on sand is like sitting comfortably waiting to grid out at Louden. It just don't hurt.

5. My suspension is WAY too stiff. And my handgrips are for mini-hands.

I did about 10 laps. Made friends with a guy on a CRF450 who gave me some pointers. MAN is it hard doing everything different than on-road. Fun though!

Perhaps the final weekend of the month we'll be able to get there again? This weekend is out for me, I'm going to Buffalo for the Pats game.

Hmmm, I know I could be talked into that
I know last year they were open on select nice days after their closing date, keeps your ears open and I'll post as soon as I find anything out

I ended up riding Mototown Tuesday night. Pouring rain out and I was inside ripping laps on the SX track from 6:45pm till 9:15pm. Can't beat that.

Are they open all winter? Oh sweet necta, and to think I was gunna have some downtime this season to do non-motorized things....

I can't upshift worth shit. I can downshift fine (sometimes too fine, can't notice when it clicks down or not). Oreo recommended that I raise my shift lever a little bit and I think it's good advice. Thoughts?

I just can't seem to get my toe under the thing, that's all.

Also, anyone have an idea of a good starting point for suspension? I was thinking of taking it to Mista Petah-Kates' seminar to get it somewhat dialed so it's not all too important.

Unfortunately they are not selling day passes... :/

I'm working with Transworld / Mototown on a event coming up soon and I do work 'in the Industry' if you will.

at my company they put in a break room right down the hall from my office, how's that for perks. They've got a fridge, a microwave, and a water bubbler.

Well, while you are there maybe you should pick up a rock and hit them in the head with it, it may knock some sence into them and open the doors for day passers

Hey I'm all for Day Passes myself! I hear ya. Don't think they'd let quads in any ol' time however.. I did hear talk about ATV races on special dates or something?

It was pretty fun track, SX style, all jumps with no rest between them. You land and take back off immediately. Steeper backsides too so rolling them or casing them wasn't exactly a 'fun' option.

I hope the redesign the Main track. Right now it's Minitrack, Main Track, and Sand Track. Sand track is like a Southwick training tool but everyone I've talked to says it's a waste of time. I did one lap and was like 'err nope' and that's what most regulars seem to do. If they axed that and used that space to extend main track.. whooboy!

NEATVMX already has several dates booked for open practice there starting next month
