He doesn't have the Rappy listed, but he's got pics of one. I'ma gonna call him and see if he's got any ready to go for the Rappy (ski set-up only)...![]()

Nice. His sled-spiked tires look mean!

Okay, the kit only gets you ready for the actual conversion. You still hafta go out and buy (Ski-Doo) skis & carbides and a coupla other things. The 'kit' is essentially a new hub that goes over your existing one that you attach the skis to. Guess I'll take my time and research this a bit further for next winter...![]()

I wonder how well it does over time being that the bracket is only attached by 2 wheel studs. I also wonder if it'll effect the bearing negatively by applying a different or more force laterally or even directly.
Not saying that will happen, just things I though about while looking at it. Seems fun though.

When I saw the price.. I knew it had to be, Carbides are about $85, Ski's $100 each. Never mind his fancy brackets... Still the idea has merit. IF his brackets are engineered well, I would say they are worth the scratch. I am sure you can find used ski's. I would be concerned about the tires, even picked the way they are, you are going no where in the 10" of white shit we got last night. Even in 4wd I got shit stuck this am in the snow.

I bet tricky mike could make the hub set up.

interesting concept! after seeing ski's on the front of the $3,000 dirt bike snow conversion kits, I myself have considered putting a snowmobile ski on the front of a dirt bike, paired with a studded rear tire for deep snow runs
but then again, I feel that a front tire is no trouble until the snow is more than 8-12" deep, then you just end up getting stuck from every which way possible. A ski could probably float over the deep snow, but your frame is still picking up snow and the rear tire is actively digging itself into the snow until the swingarm gets stuck anyways....
so is the kit even worth it for your ice riding, and (shallow) snow riding?

I don't think the tires will work out in all this deep stuff, Jay.

Unless you put some 60" superswampers out back on the Rap, it's just going to spin and go nowhere
But for some packed sled trails..I bet it's fun![]()

I got some 36" by 12.5" swampers you could borrow.
