check the exhaust flange carefully - where the exhaust pipe seats into the head.... make sure there is a tight fit/change the gasket.... this is a very common problem - air leaks in on the cam overalp and causes all sorts of strange tuning issues.
awesome advice. will check. i took the exhaust off b/c i painted it, and broke one of the studs so i had to replace, very well could not be seated 100%.

anyway to check for air leaks aside from just feeling for air?
