This was the first outdoor event I've watched in a long while. Cool track, and great racing. That steep downhill into a tight right hander looked stressful!
Great riding by Reed. Very cool.
It made me realize that even Crowhill is really a mix of outdoor and indoor track styles. It's not SX, but its certainly jumpier than that big outdoor MX track.
But then you get to a track like Red Bud.

That track was rough! Great racing! I'm so bummed I won't be able attend the Southwick National.
Check this video out from Ryan Sipes during practice. Looks like he's in fast forward!

great racing! sick battles between Dungey and Reed when it was tight. those guys were charging so hard all the way through. right when Emig was commenting on Dungeys bike hooking up I was amazed too, he ROCKETED through that section.
outdoor rules!
we should go hit up some tracks in NY this season, Walden, Claverack, Ace, Southwoods, etc.

Anyone else going to the nationals at southwick this year?

should be there this year! Might go to Unadilla and thinking about Red Bud as well. Strangely enough my girlfriend really enjoys the Motorcross thing so it makes it easier to ge to a few different races.
def try to make it out to Unadilla if you haven't been. it's jaw-droppingly gorgeous out there. i would really like to make it this year. gonna try for Southwick too.

Also check out Hickory Hill in Granville, NY. They are paying a pretty good purse this year and attracting some good riders to their little series.

i'm just talking for practice but good to know, looks like a sweet spot! all that stuff is about 3hrs drive, could be a fun overnighter... the only purse i need at an MX track is one to match my skirt!
i ran the MSC circuit for a few years before college (just as a novice), would be fun to hit the old tracks again. a lot of them look very similar... 20 years later![]()

They do run fairly regular practices at Hickory. You need to keep an eye on there practice page. He posts up the dates when he is having them.
I have ridden there a couple times and the dirt is great as is the layout.
The crowd on practice days is pretty mellow too.
ya good racing for sure. In the lites class 2nd moto Musquin fell in first turn and was last and got up to 6th, pretty nuts.
