i got caught up last night too... what a crazy season. felt really bad for Villopoto and Stewart. totally wack shit to go down. Villipoto must have wanted to KILL!
Canard was rockin' da house! super fast sessions, awesome to watch the battle with Reed. both raced aggressive but squeaky clean.
amazing that the 'best' scenario for Villopoto is exactly what unfolded.

Jacksonville was definitely a season changing event that wound up much better for Villopoto then it should have. Hopefully Stewart is feeling better and can come back and race hard in Toronto and the rest of the season as it is shaping up to be a good finish.
I really hope that Villopoto learned something from what happened to him in Jacksonville. He should have got back on his bike in the Heat race and rode like he can to get into the main. I don't think he would have had a problem getting into the top 9 spots and making the main that way. Instead he gambled and lost on the fact that he would easily qualify in the LCQ.
A few thoughts on this season of Supercross;
- I have started to think more of both Reed and Stewart. They both seem to be stepping it up and not being the prima donnas that they have been in the past. Stewart getting back in the race after getting blown back to midpack in the first turn and running through the pack to get to 2nd (couple other examples as well this is just one) and Reed showing up to race every week and both of them being a little more humble on the podium.
- Villopoto having a great consistent season and leading the points race is a good thing as I like the way he rides. Podium behavior and comments neither here no there, he could liven up a bit on the podium but he is there to race and win not give sound clips.
- Canard is going to be up there with the rest of the boys challenging for the wins as well. That pass on Reed was inmpressive and he was absolutely flying.
- Hopefully Dungey gets himself on track and starts to run up front as well. Nothing more exciting then watching all of the fast guys dicing it up in the races.
Now to get the plans to go to Vegas for the Finals finished up. Had a good time out there last year and hopefully can get out there again this year.

good recap, Joel. i agree with pretty much everything. i'm not a Stewart fan but felt awful for him. getting hit like that in the back could be a life-changer.
on Villopoto gambling, i said the same thing but i think his bike busted didn't it? something with the rear end they were talking about.
bums me out that Dungey seems to have lost it. he rides well in the qualifiers but then doesn't seem to charge as hard. small mistakes adding up i guess.
on the podium talk... i wish they'd quit with the sponsor shit and just TALK a bit. we all see the logos, i dont need to hear the laundry list. impresses me more when riders give their take for the quick interviews rather than run down the list... i know, its money.

As much as I hate to admit it, Reed has shown great maturity and consistancy this season. As of now, he is the only one of the front runners who has not had a bad crash, and he doesn't seem to be easily goaded into riding beyond his abilities. I will be sad if he takes the championship, though.
Props to Canard, though! He is definately stepping up his game.
I am still pulling for Stewart and RV, but it is getting close to requiring a catastrophic event for Reed for either one of them to have a shot.
Lites action has been intense as well! Barcia seems so laid back during interviews. I like that...and I can't imagine racing one of those events with a broken wrist, I don't care what kind of brace you have on.
Canard rides soooo sick, his style is insane on the bike.
AJ Catanzaro from CT got a 12th in lites main, pretty sick.
