Anyone have any old gear they wanna sell? I need boots (size 9.5), armour, helmet, pants, shirt thingy.
New to dirt riding (well, I did some 22 years ago).
Need dirt riding buddies, anyone wanna show me around some gentle trails?
degs
Whatever you do, do NOT ride that thing w/o MX boots -- you'll know why if you do. You'll definitely want some knee & elbow guards to go with a chest protector, and a hyrdration pack as well. The '04 dirt gear is coming in now, so the '03 is going for cheap. If you can't find some locally, check out www.mxsouth.com and www.rockymountainatv.com
re: helmets
I do not favor HJC street lids at all, but their top of the line dirt offering is nice.

Congrats Degsy! We might me out your way, riding some gentler trails this weekend. Watching the weather and that will determine which day. How does this Saturday look for you?
Not good!! I'll be racing at Loudon.
Can't do anything until I get some boots and other gear though. Might go to Brockton cycle today and pick some up.
Degs
Hey degs, go to brokton cycles, they have really good deals on dirt gear. its usually a couple year old model but brand new stuff from a dealer at internet pricing with out the shipping and handling.
Like chr1s said, definately get the knee and elbow, chest protection, as well as pants and jersey. I second the HJC off road helmet , I have crashed pretty hard in mine and while others might debate, I came out of it just fine.
as for showing you some trails, we can definately come up with some for ya. First thing to do is get the dirt registration so it will be legal for ya.
Oh and DEFINATELY buy a camel back or equivilant hydration pack, you will be more than happy with your purchase when you are sweating your balls off in the woods picking your new toy up off the forest floor and looking for a sip of water.
We will see ya out on the trails soon.

I beleive there are 1 or 2 state forests close to you that allow dirt bikes?
Oh, and when looking for a helemt, make sure the liner is removable and washable, it doesn't take dirt helmets long to get nasty and stinky. HJC dirt helmets rock![]()
Hope to see ya on the trails soon
Yamaha
hehe rocktober "nah I never go through that mudpit, we've lost bikes in there every time I go riding here!" hehe
Agreed on the HJC thing, good protection/visibility, light weight, removable liners w/coolmax, and easily obtanium for <$200 tops.

Yeh that stuff looks good, but you can get it all for what the guy is asking if you go to brokton cycles, and you get to try it on, and don't have to pay for shipping.
