It does appear that maybe EXC doesn't mean what it used to. Used to mean it had full street bits including turn signals and mirrors. Now maybe not. So maybe it is appropriate to compare EXC-F to XC-W under this lineup.
Still think the 300 is apples to oranges vs the 350. Compare 300 to 500. Maybe 200 or 250 2t to 350.
Ride wise, I'll agree the 300 and 500 are probably closer, but the 2017+ chassis is common across their full sized enduro bikes whether it's the euro EXC or US XC-W. Only difference is the power plant. The Euro bikes are a bit heavier, assuming the Euro4 emissions package, I would fully expect to see that the models will become uniform in the next few years.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
rented a 2018 250 XC-W TPI for the day - awesome bike in the desert!
lightweight, super smooth motor, easy to tractor up rocky sections (and you feel confident lofting the wheel and feeling like you're a hard enduro rider), and you crack open the throttle on whoops/hills/turns it just goes BRRAAAAPPPP. Gearbox is nicely spaced and it has 6 speeds for the longer straight flat sections.
it has a separate oil injection tank that holds enough 2-stroke oil for roughly 4-5 full tanks of gas...we only rode 73 miles, but I only used 1.6ish gallons of gas; so riding lightly/6th gear I was getting 40+ mpg!
awesome bike!
