Wow, I went out to my local sand track today and it was in the best condition I've ever seen it. Enough moisture to keep the dust down, but dry even in the low spots allowing us to use the whole circuit for a change.
It was my first day out and after 3 laps I think My heart rate must have hit 190! I'm gonna be sore tomorrow, but it'll hurt oh so good. That was a frigginblast. The snowmobile bridge I use to get over there was under water, so I had to ride on the road a bit, but no worries. It's great to live in a farm town.![]()

What town?
I was out yesterday riding at a track and trails near my place, definitely was feeling it after and today.
You shouldve stayed at a holiday inn express last night.

great way to stay in shape and have fun doing it
sure beats a treadmill, eh?
I am pretty jealous that the riding is right outside your doorstep though...

Just got back from a friend's house. Tried to ride today after hitting the gym this morning. Wasn't really feelin it today, so I put the bike away after a few laps. His track is pretty technical and jumpy and I'm pretty slow and not jumpy, so if I'm not feeling great at his track it can be a very painful experience. Too early in the season to be stupid and get hurt. Can't wait for Southwick Saturday!

Hahaha! What a great day. I went back out and promptly drilled myself into the sand way up at the top of the big bowl turn. I'm gonna be blowin sand outta my nose for a few days.
I did manage to settle down and ride without arm pump etc. I still almost puked by lap five though. Had the place to myself for a while as the quad party stayed down on the fields today.
Woo for dirt this weekend. Hit up my local spot with some friends as well. Even had a bonus of finding a small trail loop in the area we hadn't known about. Did manage to have a wicked sketch moment running the whoops in 4th though - full sideways right, full sideways left, full sideways right, almost straight but front wheel marshmellows sideways into top of whoop - and miraculously saved it. With my luck this was of course in front of 3 truckfulls of guys relaxing watching the action and my friends all of whom started applauding as I rolled back over to the trucks. Hit hard enough I need to loosen up the front wheel to straighten it. Definitely feel like I'm getting in the groove
Oooh shit! Swapping in the whoops is one of the worst feelings. Glad you didn't eat it because it's hard to get up from one of those uninjured. You usually get tossed back first into the face of a whoop. It comes right behind getting kicked out of control on a big jump or coming up short on a double in my book.
My local spot is all whoops, I've learned the hard way.
nice! i'll be hittin' you up very soon
was out on the SXV on Sat (boy was that FUN) so dirty Sun was blown for me.

Chute... a long time ago in a galaxy far far away I was able to ride right from my front door. Its the best.

Paul, keep me posted on sand conditions down your way -- supposed to race Southwick on Saturday, but I'm not going if it's gonna be a mudfest.

K, But I'm sure Southwick will be great by sat. That place drains pretty well. Last year we raced Stimilon after a week of heavy rain. It was wet, but actually pretty good on raceday. It has been basically a drought out this way this winter. All those storms missed us. With Wed. thurs. fri. looking dry I think it will be mint.
