Wow, If anyone here cares to get a first hand look at one of the BEST trail systems in the U.S. load up your mt. bikes and head to the Kingdom Trails in East Burke VT. There's 4 days worth of single track alone. All on private land and built/maintained by a non-profit organization with permission of the landowners.
Kingdom Trails Association
There are almost no rocks or mudholes because the trails were built "sustainable". Many switchbacks prevent erosion without waterbars. When a trail gets eroded, they close it and build an alternate with a more sustainable design.
The flow at this place was mindblowing. I never had to get off my bike despite plenty of climbing/elavation change.
The coolest trail snaked down a steep ravine crossing back and forth like a half pipe on the steep walls. You had to really rip down it to have enough momentum to top the walls.
Anyway, screw the state gov't. We need to create a place like this for dirtbikes...
Cool Paul, how did you find out about that?
Sounds like fun. No gas emissions to boot!
Think I'll need to head up there sometime.

Kingdom trails is awesome, and a bargain at $10 for the day (especially since it is all on private land). The sadwiches at the general store are Godsends after a long day riding too. Waterbury, Stowe, and Waitsfield have great trail systems set out as well and they're all free to use.

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...
I agree, the best MT bike destination I have been to. I must admit I have 350 acre Moobs trail system 3 miles down my dirt rd and have not ridden since i got a motor on my bike.
Oh well ya can't do it all.

It pays to play.
Ride fast,
You will get farther before it is over!
