200 mile dirt ride leaves from NHMS. I did this last year and it was an absolute blast.

I have done both. The dirt classic is more fun.

As of right now I'm running both days of the dirt classic. Sunday I volunteered to help monitor one of the water holes that's near my house (as a MVTR member) so I'll be leaving early and then finishing the ride near the end of the pack.

My bike is not road legal, no lights so I can't even fake it. On top of that, it's in quite a few pieces while I sort a new carb and a couple other issues.
Yeah I can ride dirt anytime...race Gino's hawk in an endurance race? Hell yes.

The dirt course is far more entertaining than the "left, right, left, right, right, right, left, left, right, left, right, left, left, repeat ad-nauseum" course the street bikes are limited to!

There are track people, and non track people. I'm the former. The benefit of repetition is that you can push to a much higher level and explore the limits of the machine, and your skills. NOT the same on courses that don't repeat. Dirt, or pavement, I like to find my limits in each and every corner.
That wasn't a dig on you or track riders. Just adding fuel to the emerging street/dirt debate in this thread. While I do like the track from time to time, I prefer to have the scenery change.

To each their on, there's no grounds for debate on what someone enjoys. Unless it's between raping and pillaging, that warrants discussion.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Speaking of raping, I can't wait to get in the woods with kb.
