I watched a video called Dirtwise last night. It's pretty good and covers a lot of ground, but I could have done without so much interviewing and more analysis of the techniques they introduce.
It does offer some practice drill ideas which I'll be trying before the season really gets under way. Quick stops, stoppies, standing slaloms, brake slides, tight figure eights (standing), and a few jumping techniques, like pre-loading, brake tapping, and gassing it just before touchdown.
Trade that KDX for a YZ125 before somebody gets hurt.![]()
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John Stuart Mill
I also just got a copy of dirt wise.
I enjoyed the movie vrry much, except for Mr. Watts blowing his horn so often and the dam Subliminal advertising.
That's right subliminal advertising.
I was a very happy WR owner and after watching this movie twice I went out and bought two brand new KTMs.
It just had to be that.
Anyone else find that same strange compulsion to buy orange?

Now I gotta sell a couple of bikes.
It pays to play.
Ride fast,
You will get farther before it is over!

OK, So i've done two one hour sessions practicing the drills in the Dirtwise Video. It's really good stuff. I think I'm faster on the KDX already. It does handle the whoops better using the techniques in the video and I can land jumps without bottoming/rebounding so much now too. I can stoppie it on dirt (as long as it's not sandy) The stand up slalom is really fun, and has really built up my confidence while standing.
I've also quickly found some of my bike's limitations. It has a rearward weight bias the makes aggressive cornering a little dodgy. When I get on the gas, the front pushes cause I can't get enough weight on it.
Anyway, get the video and practice the drills!
hahahahahahaha
It's funny cuz i'm bigger than Paul![]()

It's not funny because we're all slower than Paul. (at NHIS)
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
