Agreed! (on both parts... the method of cleaning and he's a genius!)![]()
I put my simple green in a spray bottle, same thing, works great.
i used the concentrated spray at full strength so my bike may be completely melted in the garage right now but holy crap i was shocked.
no more spending $$$ on S100 for me!

be careful with Simple Green on aluminum. not worth the risk in my opinion. http://www.simplegreen.com/solutions...query=aluminum

Interesting... had never heard that before.![]()
I get the impression from the article on their site that if you rinse it good you'll be fine. I'm just paranoid and I don't like washing my bikes with a hose, but then again I don't have a dirtbike.

Wow, my very own thread
It is that simple and I've been doing it as long as I have known about simple green.
How I do it..
..Spray the heavy mud off
..Make sure the area you're ready to spray is cool and wet
..Spray a small area
..Get a couple good quality paint brushes, 4" is nice, and a 1.5" for tight areas, then brush the area you just sprayed
..rinse it off as soon as you're done brushing...repeat if needed.
I also use an electric leaf blower to blow dry the bike, and usually spray the motor with WD-40
I do NOT use simple green when cleaning my streetbike. Regular car wash, though I still sometimes use a paint brush to get tight areas

Yup I use that method to. I just make sure to wash it off in a few minutes and use a lot of water.
also simple green is a degreaser , it will pull the oils out of your skin if left on too long , rinse your hads quickly as well.

I use a toothbrush in the really tight areas....
I do also for some reason have black teeth though??!!
I'm an S100 lover as well but give the SG a try on the dirty. the paint brush is key though too, I used a 3". spray, brush, rinse. no soaking. I'll dilute the next round to see where the cleaning threshhold is.
Yeah, wash. My road bikes I never cared about being clean but dirt bikes suck to work on when there's dry mud everywhere. Paul, you got some red clay out your way
thanks, R7! method works mint

I tried this paint brush thing as well and it is nice! I need a longer bristle brush though.
I've always used Simple green and never had an issue. I just never let it sit for long. As long as you wash it off/rinse good you are set. My yz has a naked aluminum frame
