Oreo and me did some good riding today. It was sunny and warm. Wearing my Cortech and Joe Rocket textile ended the day being warm and dry. Lots of good single track along with some exploration and a couple fun runs up a retarded sand hill.

The new "Q" silencer is REALLY quiet. I still hear pipe and engine noise while riding but others around me can only tell my bike is running when i'm on the pipe. Yay!

We only got to ride for about three hours due to an emergency brewery call I got when I was on my way out the door. We coulda rode more towards the end of the day by we were really haulin for most of our riding (especially in the single track, MUCH faster/more controlled/etc) so we were tired and decided to call it a day.

I've decided today that I do want to woods this bike. Now that i'm used to it, I have NO issues, not even close issues with riding a 125 mx 2 stroke decent in the woods. No low end "grunt" issues, no problems keeping it going, no running out of steam up hills, no issues with power at all. The only difference between this bike and more woods oriented bikes big bore bikes is that mine is lighter, easier to kick over and uses less gas. I'll be thinking about suspension first, then lighting kit and finally full street registration over the winter.

Alex, don't be hatin. I humped the ground once and Pete did while showing off in front of three other riders. Ground humpin != gay humpin.

I managed to have one of those crashes where I landed with both hands still on the bars. Pete, well Pete managed to embarass him and me by nearly rear ending me and then lowsiding nearly into someone's truck with a crowd of 4 guys watching. It was mint

Speakin of that, both oreo and myself need some new tires. I am planning to do all woods, not sure about him. Recommendations? Fortunately I ride in mostly soft/intermediate/hard/mud/rocks/sand terrain so tire choice will be easy.

that's the one.... I can't really tell in that pic, but it seems to be ALOT looser now than it was when that pic was taken, especially further towards the top. Clayton friggin SUNK right about where the photographer was standing.

I made it w/in 15 feet of the top but had to chop the throttle when i drifted left... next time I'm goin all the way

That's the hill. Except now the hill is more like a half pipe and the sand was more like fluffy snow. It took me 5 minutes just to turn my bike around coasting it down the hill.

It's just fun! Even if you can't make it you don't crash or go out of control, you just kinda stop and your bike either tips to one side or stays standing up.

We did quite a bit of exploring and I made a mental note of a mint single-track loop.

That's an old pic I was there last fall and could not make it to the top. Third gear pinned at the bottom and the sank up to the swing arm just short of the top. Jeff Wood was the only guy to make it, he was on a CRF 450 pinned. The sand is much looser now.

Jay it doesn't look that steep in the pic, but is way past 45 deg, maybe close to 60.

nawwww I dunno about 60*, that's damn near impossible... but i'm sure it's 45* or more... It coulda flattened out a little since you were last there, Pete. Either way, it's definitely steep & sandy.

Todd makes it look easy, over and over, and over... Watched a guy clear the top on a CR500, overshooting up into the trees and grabbing onto a tree limb after letting go of the bike. His feet were a few feet off the ground while he was hanging there. That was cool.

BTW, a CRF250X can clear that hill.
