These were brought up in another thread, but I didn't wanna hack it. How many of yooz wear 'em? Pros, cons? I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about one...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I've worn them and have been happy.
I believe that Mark (R7) owns one...

My brother wears one as his primary street helmet.
Pros: A lot cooler in the summer than a normal full face helmet.
Looks incredibly badass.
Cons: A good amount of wind noise at higher speeds. The visor also makes it somewhat uncomfortable on the highway, so he removed it. Weird wind buffeting.
I have not tried one

Haven't tried one, they look pisser for supermoto/dual sport. Do they make tearoffs for them?
My Dad used to roadrace with an XD when they first came out. I have not worn one for a lengthy amount of time, but I fit and sell them and have heard mostly good things. The visor at high speeds does need to be removed, and I have heard that there is a bit more wind noise. One safety feature they sport is the emergency release cheek pads which make it easier to remove the helmet if something happens. Also the helmet comes with the dry-cool wicking liner which is nice!

iv'e got a new one i run with the visor on.
this is my first season with it, i'd guess i put 11-12,000 miles on this year with it on several different bikes
btw:the buffeting from the visor was supposed to be worse on the older ones.
the buffeting is different on different bikes.
on the gsa it's not bad until 100+ mph
i've done many 500+ mile days without a problem.
i'll more than likely use it next year for our prudhoe run
on the super duke you always feel like your going to get blown off the bike especially at 120+mph so for me i don't notice it much
on the dirt bike i don't notice it much at all, but then again it wont do much more than 85mph
ihmo: if your going to spend most of your time below 80mph it's a great helmet.

I thought by putting it in the Dirty area, people woulda understood it's for dirt use. I shoulda pointed that out...
The only time the Rappy sees anything above 50 is on the lake. But I usually wear my streetbike helmet for that & most winter riding. Although the XD would be used in winter too...

Maybe they think your Rappy is real real fast?
I've got 2 XD's and I'll never stick a set of riding goggles to my face again!
The only minor issue i have is fogging at very low speeds, talking like walking pace speeds or stopped. Cracking the visor open just a bit solves that problem. My first XD is over 5 years old and still has the original visor in it, I also clean the visor trailside if it gets muddy rather than change it. I always have drinking water on me when riding, and carry paper towels in my backpack or pocket.
There a bit expensive for an offroad only helmet, but it'll probably pay for itself with the money you save from buying new riding goggles every 6 months/year.
And i know it's off topic from what Jay is asking, but I use my newer one when riding my R1 more often than a regular helmet...much MUCH cooler on hot days and wind isn't an issue upto 100mph. With the visor clipped shut, I don't notice anymore wind noise from the sun visor than I do with my regular Arai.

sorry i thought you wanted to know about the pros and cons of the helmet.
how it worked at speed was my biggest concern when i first looked at the helmet.
some of us doo over 100 in the dirt a lot, shit even my utility quad will do 70
i wont be using it in the winter cause i cant get a heated shield, but will use it in warmer weather say down to 20ºf.
btw:i dont care for the helmet when on the r1 the helmet is no good at speeds over 150mph

Personally I'm of the opinion JRO should get a dedicated helmet for dirt and keep the XD purely for Street/Race. She's using it in dirt right now until she gets a dirt helmet.
