Yuck, Getting my wheels off to spoon some new knobs on and my bike is a friggin mess. I never got to wash it after the last few rides of 09. It's nasty. I don't have a brush, and couldn't get much dirt off of it with a rag. Time to buy some cleaning supplies.
I'm gonna need new wheel bearings while I'm at it. I HATE doing bearings. FML
Bummer. I use S100 on my 450 when it gets nasty, works pretty good at getting the shit loosened up. Not sure how it would do on crust that has been sitting all winter though. Hot water is probably the best bet to soften it up?
Super clean and a pressure washer. I hate washing my bike; I'm in the same boat as you, Paul. Left it dirty now got to get it out of the shed and wash it before I work on it before I ride it. Yay.

I've said it before, i'll say it again....Simple Green, a 4" quality paint brush and a regualr pressure garden hose. Takes 10 minutes at most to clean the bike after a nasty ride, if you let it crust and dry, takes double the time![]()

I guess I am at the other end of things. I clean the dust off the bike every week all winter.
Where did I leave that tooth brush?![]()
If you're doing wheel bearings and seals anyway - take it to the car wash.

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...

Put the bearings in the freezer a couple hours before you're ready to install. They'll slide right in, especially if you heat the hub a little. Krud Kutter works awesome on everything.
