Re: Stimilon Race Class Choices
Just sent in my forms -
I went with the 3 (KIR, Old 30C and Never Ever).
Maybe I'll bail on a race, maybe not, but for $20 additional, I figured what the hell.
How sweet a 2 day race event would be...drool...I miss those Loudon race weekends...

Do the open practice on Sunday! I might sign up for that. Last year it rained on Sunday and I didn't go back. This year I'm fitter and might go for it.

Re: Stimilon Race Class Choices
Any other track, I would. Southwick though...there's no way I could handle it, and Monday would be murder. MX207 I would in a heartbeat.
Speaking of 207 - we gotta get you up there. Best track around IMO (compared to CH, the indoor arena in CT that I never liked, and the slippery CT clay track). It's a blast with attainable challenges if you want to really push, or rollable challenges otherwise. A really fun playground, more flowing than the CT tracks, and just more fun/better than CH.

Re: Stimilon Race Class Choices
I'll go this year. It's far for me, but I'm game.

Re: Stimilon Race Class Choices
i dont know if any of you are on BORN but a member there (mrl1300r) has a friend renting Southwick on 4/18. $100 lets you ride all day.
i'll ask him if its cool to post the info here. more riders attending Stimilon here than over on that site. good way to get a taste of da 'wick early in the season!
wish i could do it but no way i'll be ready with work/bike/body schedule ahead of me this month.

Re: Stimilon Race Class Choices
Yeah, me too, but this ain't that trip. Hmmm.. Maybe we need to plan a trailer trip for this fall. I'm not sure though. I might go to MotoGP in Laguna, thereby using up my travel budget for a while.

Southwick doesn't really have jumps. They are rollers. If you are "on it" you can get some decent air, but beginner riders aren't usually going fast enough.
Hardest part about southwick is just wallowing through the sand. Really tires you out.
It's a good beginner track. You should be fine. At least show up for the party. There'll be a band, lots of alcohol, my friend will have his pool and volleyball. Good time.

And crashing there is like Making A hero Play in beach volleyball. Like falling on a beach.
