    Sunuvabitch.

While replacing the water pump seals on my KTM (a process that would have taken 15 minutes instead of 2 hours if it were an '02 instead of an '01) I decided it would be a good idea to drop a screw down into the motor while removing my cam chain.

Tried to spot it & fish it out with a magnet once the cam gear was outta the way but I couldn't get a visual. Super tight quarters.

Any advice? Maybe remove the stator cover? Think it might be in there? Trying to avoid any and all invasive surgery if possible.

Pop the stator cover off, pull the flywheel, poke at cam chain.

I'm still pissed at how long this process is taking on the 01 though.

Here it is on 02+. Friggin cake walk.

Update your 01 to 02 parts... done!

And don't use RTV, get some Loctite 518, that's what KTM calls for. Permatex 518XX is suitable as well.
