I'm going to do this thread a little at a time so bear with me.
Coureur des Bois:Runners of the woods
Woods Runners 2017
So back in December or January I say a little blurb about this trip on a youtube channel.
It looked interesting and very expensive. At first I blew it off thinking it was out of reach. But I still fired off a text to my inner circle of dirt clods looking for support. I decided to contact the Traction eRag to find out just how exclusive this trip was.. $3500.00. Pretty fucking exclusive. That was the fly and ride plan as the trip was billed. Originally it was to meet up in Montreal and fly to Murdochville in a puddle jumper. Then ride a fleet of 2017 Betas for the week. I asked the man with the plan about bringing our own bikes and driving... He was cool and dropped the price down to reality for us normal people. It was still pretty expensive but I shot a text back to the clod crew and got a nibble from Joel. That's all I needed. I got back on the horn with Dallas and reserved a spot with a possible for Joel. We were going. And by we I me Joel and I.
Below is our tale.
From June 29 through July 7 2017 a small group of trail riders from around the world gathered in the small town of Murdochville Quebec to ride off road motorcycles. We were hosted by the irreverent folks at Traction eRag and the wonderful people of the Chic-Chac.

Paul,
I would guess a rock/rocks caught him out more than a log. I didn't have the pleasure of trying this climb but on the majority of the trails there weren't a whole lot of logs/roots across the trails, mostly loose rocks and the occasional (lol) fixed rock in the trail.
JC,
We would meet/depart at 9:00AM each day and typically spend the morning doing some sort of "training" where a particular useful skill/skills were covered and we would execute them repeatedly until we mostly got the idea/execution. We would then reconvene for lunch. After lunch was typically trail riding within the different groups we split up into until roughly 5:30PM. Come back, wash the bikes, put our gear away, head to the house, clean up and reconvene for dinner/drinks with the group.
I can't speak for Adam (though I am fairly certain he is already plotting some type of return trip) but I would be interested both in doing another trip of this nature with the same organization in the same location or possibly even a different location as well as possibly returning to this location with a group of people we know to explore this area more.
That turn is way offcamber and the exit is very tight and steep rocks. It put half of our crew on the ground the first time we hit it.
I would go back here again for sure. I would ride with the guys we rode with anywhere again. We gelled very well and had a ball riding together. There will be a reunion tour.

Here is another vid from the trip. This was an especially tough climb. Nothing but loose rocks on top of more loose rocks and it progressively gets steeper and narrower.
Good times.

This climb was a real challenge too. Very very steep. The decent was tougher.
