It's also a good time to mention if you're riding on your favorite "tollerated" trails, give it time to dry out. Just a couple passes with bikes this time of year and you can end up with ruts a foot deep.
Trails are closed at Hodges Village Dam and will remain closed until things dry out. HVD is a flood damage reduction facility preventing millions in damaged since it was built in the late 50's. HVD is currently holding back snow melt run off and rain from the weekend storm with the pool climbing over 16 feet as of this morning. More rain is predicted the end of this week. The trails at HVD will remain closed until things dry out. For more information call the project office @508-248-5697.

I am itching to get out and ride too, but patience will be sure that we can continue to ride, I want to go rip my own field up this weekend but I know if I do there will be mud ruts that won;t repair them selves .
Hope for a dry spring so we can get out there soon.
this is the perfect time of year for a dual sport , where you can get some thrill by riding on sand covered bumpy rutted, pot hole filled back roads on a street legal dirt bike while the trails dry out .

thanks for posting, sucks that the only legal riding area is closed, but I'm glad they're doing something to prevent ruts...some of the ones at Franklin are so deep, I panic, because it looks like it's not possible to cross, and my stout ol' XR200R isn't tall enough to traverse it
RM wise, it doesn't matter...it doesn't work anyways![]()

you should see some of the places i manage, we are spilling 2-3ft over just from runoff.
this is just the bypass reach at one of them during spring runoff...

yup, just gotta wait it out. like the rest, i'm hoping for a dry spring
we have an easement for the fire pond across the street that runs through my side yard... water up to my basement door = sad dirt biker. once i see that begin to dry out its usually a good indicator of the surrounding areas. at least it receded fairly quick from the door/yard but the 'stream' is still moving good.
my neighbor started to form a little loop out near the power lines a few seasons ago but that floods as well.![]()

Trails are now open at Hodges
My local tolerated trails are pretty much nothing but piles of rocks, so I am good to go.
I'm going to be away this weekend, but will be headed to Hodges next week for sure
i have the rest of my carb parts, just need a break from work to finish up... i'm out of town all next week but should be ready to join once back. (fingers x'd)
