I dunno, the motor is really strong.....just absurdly so for the frame, suspension and brakes!

I bet that old Yam RIPS! The horsepower thing has been pretty damn good for a long time with the 2 strokes. Most gains have been in reliability and making broader powerbands and maybe a little in the ultra high end.

Suspension has become more focused for sure.

A 450f will walk any 250 smoker in a straight line.

I think I may take this thing up to the track and use it as a "pit bike"

So I drive up to White River Junction in the pouring rain. Meet up with Jason (nice guy) who was selling the bike. Load it into the truck. He says he can't get it to run without jump starting it. Ok, so here I am thinking "Yeah, original top end and tires, it may need some work but for the money, it's still worth it". He gives me a pair of riding boots, 2 jersey's, 2 pair of gloves, knee armor, chest padding, and nice Fox riding pants. Oh, and a stand and a case of redbull (he got 4 cases of beer as part of the deal, us beverage guys know how to do it).

So I get it home. Pull it off the truck. Turn on the gas (it has plenty in the tank). Kick it over. Nothing. Kick it some more. Nothing. Seems to have decent compression though...hmmmm.



Here she sits. Then I pull the plug out to investigate quickly before dinner is ready.



Is that an Iridium tip plug or something? Looks weird....may as well replace it.



That's much better! So I put it in.

I got pissed at another non running bike so I proceded to kick it. Twice.



Wouldn't you know it, the damn thing started smoking and making this funny noise! Even after I stop choking it after only 5 seconds!



Total $ spent on a MINT 2001 Honda CR125 with ORIGINAL TIRES that look brand new, ORIGINAL SPARK PLUG and all sorts of extras that now runs like a brand new bike?

$1004.35

The spark plug was $4.35. And four cases of beer.
