I'm sure this is some kind of a sin but I'm going to hell anyway.
Has anyone ever welded a kickstand successfully on a bike like my yz-125?
By success, I mean: doesn't get in the way when riding, not super dangerous and works as a kickstand.
I've been out dirty riding a few times on her now and I really love riding in the pits. Pretty frequently, I have to get off the bike and do stuff, laying her down kind of stresses me out. It's not so bad if there are trees around to learn her against but you know... never one where I need it.
So I guess this is really two questions... Anyone ever done it? Any idea who could do the work for me?
Thanks all!

Just remember that these aren't meant to be anywhere NEAR as rugged as a normal side stand. It's just meant to keep the bike kinda upright, not for you and three buds to use as a park bench...![]()
Yeah, if 3 buds are using a dirtbike as a park bench, there are probably other things going on there as well...maybe a quad would be better suited?
On a serious note, he makes a good point. They are not as strong as an OEM side stand, and I certainly wouldn't use it as a stand to try and start the bike on
Yamaha
Just leave it at my house, I'll run it regularly and only lean it against trees.
I've seen it at the mx track or a desert/camping trips
usually happens after a few beers...on a fiddy...everyone falls, someone gets hurt (at a minimum)

Pro Moto Billet stands are stout and depending on brand bike, could be stronger than OEM.
invite you're three buds. partys on.
Beta 200RR
hold the front brake and dump the clutch and burry the back tire in the sand. The bike will stand all on it's own.
alternatively - I can slip a triangle stand in between the front forks and the front number plate...if it's just around the pits, I can just use that...on the trail, it'll fall out

worth it...I've been riding the YZ250 down the street, and a kickstand is tits when you stop
then I took the kdx today for its maiden voyage...and finding something to lean against around town sucks
