Hopefully, everyone is aware that there were little white X's around the track.
If you connected the dots, you would have a very good line.
I was only out there a little while, but I did see a lot of people missing the X's.
Just wondering...
Did people see them?
Did they help?
YES YES YES YES
They were very helpful. I didn't always hit them (especially entering straight sections where I wanted to make sure folks had some space to pass me) but they were very helpful... In fact, I totally didn't get turn 12 until I really tried to hit the marker there.
Very cool.
(As my first trackday they were especially helpful actually... maybe moreso for newbies than for experienced riders, but even JimF (lrrs racer), who trailered my bike to the track with his, made the comment that they were pretty cool)
But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
Yep, used 'em and loved them! I agree with turn 12... I wasn't hitting it the first few times, but once I did... that made the corner 100x better. It was especially helpful for people like me, first timers on the track. Thanks Tony for an awesome day!
the white x's were a great help, I never noticed them before.1a and 2 made alot more sense to me yesterday because of those marks.last time I watched a race, every rider took different lines through there, and I never knew which was "correct".
I've done a ton of trackdays & Thursday practices, and I still found 'em very helpful. Once I started pointing 'em out to summa the newer riders, they had a MUCH easier time tying it all together...
Good call...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
They were definitely helpful......
No, Donny, these men are nihilists. There's nothing to be afraid of.
