Can't wait! Just worried my bike will explode... it's old you seeWhat are some hotels that are close to the track, anyone have any suggestions? I'd rather stay the night before than ride 2.5 hours up, ride all day and drive home... thanks!
Check Tony's site for the specific contact info, but he has a running group deal with the Red Roof Inn that is only a few minutes away. Something in the neighborhood of $49 / night.

Looking to split a room at the Red Roof
I still love the smell of burnt racing fuel in the morning!
hmmm cheapest room I see is $69 bucks... are the others just full ya think?
I believe it's something that you have to mention to them over the phone (as opposed to finding the rate online). The rate could be $69, but I remember it being cheaper.

UPDATE - We have a grill... thanks.
--------------
If anyone going to Track Day has room for a full size BBQ grill in their truck, it's worth $50 cash or $100 in Track Day Money.
We only need one, so the first person to email me gets it.
Don't respond here... email me at tony@TonysTrackDays.com
Thanks,
unlike the guy at the last track day whos bike exploded, please get off the race line ASAP ... having a thing of oil going down the front straight into turn 1 sucked ....Originally posted by joberly

jk, it kinda sucked... i was the first one to go down the straight behind him... all i saw was some smoke towards the end of the straight as i came outta turn 12... had to go through it twice. after that i just tried to stay high of it & it didn't bother me much

I will be attending this trackday as well.
I got a set of BT-014's mounted a couple days ago and I have been working on body positioning in the corners and setting up for it.
My main goals are to:
1.) Get smoother at setting entry speeds
2.) Be in the proper gear/position before I am in the turn.
3.) Get used to the bumpiness in T3
4.) Drag a knee. I have had the kneesliders on all season but yet to actually use them![]()

first was get a good idea of the lines of a track i've never been on (got it)
second was working on smoothness (improved it)
third was weight/body position (gettin a pretty good hang of it)
fourth was drag a knee (mission accomplished x3 in turn 2)
this time around
get even more intimate w/ the lines & characteristics of the track
improve my smoothness
improve my weigh/body postion
reduce unnecessary weight on the handlebars, especially in the bumps of 3 & 10
don't leave the pavement this time
drag the OTHER knee![]()

Spend some time watching turn three. I saw some racers with a couple of very smooth lines that were getting through without getting jarred by any bumps. The lines looked a little scary but also very smooth. No guts no glory I guess. Turn 10 I'm not so sure about.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I think my goal is gonna be to at least do 5 laps before crashing
I really want to do the whole day withourt going down, but I'm worried I'm gonna bite it at some point. I have a hard time holding back and telling myself to slow down....and the pavement is gonna be cold, thats never fun.
I've never been on the track. I think I'm gonna ride this track a little too hard and its gonna kick my ass.
...I was checking out turn 3 yesterday and was also picking a smoothe line as it was noticeably bumpy.
No matter, I just can't wait to get out there.
10 DAYS!!!!!!

I know one thing you will not be doing is double apexing any of these turns like you do on the road! I would recommend that you take your time and get the line down in the follow the leader session, Tony has some great instructors that will pave the way for you, plus they offer to follow you and help you improve your techniques.Originally posted by Nazo

Don't go to the track with this attitude. A track day is NOT for pushing your limits. Crashing at a track day doesn't make you look good. I've crashed at a trackday, and it makes you look like a jackass.
I think you might have just made "Tony's list"
