For a suspension upgrade is it wise to only upgrade the front? I had right side up setup my stock suspension last yr at NYST. Believe Matt was the guy I worked with. He told me I need to get my front suspension done. I don't recall ever mentioning having the rear suspension done as well. I was able to get ~ 5-6 days out of front and rear. Previously on my 636 without having the suspension tuned I got max 3 days out of the front on Superbike pro slicks and had ~ 5 days on the rear with plenty left. I ran the Super corsa V2's last yr and got ~ 5 days out of both front and rear. That was after right side up dialed in the suspension. I plan on pulling the forks out and having them rebuilt.

I've never heard of anyone doing a suspension in order to get more life out of their tires though. Lol
I would say jersey and nyst both eat up tires pretty quick. Pirellis seem to not last as long as Dunlops, imho. I blew through a set in a weekend at jersey.
Even though you can "read" tire wear to calculate suspension adjustment, most people do it on feel. If he did the clickers for you, he probably set up based on sag and then measured the travel with a zip tie on the front fork. If he got it to a place where it feels fairly smooth, he would have pushed on the bike in the middle to see if the bike was compressing and rebounding evenly.
Stock suspension is usually a little more limited with rear adjustments and set up for like 160lb rider. So when he set it up, he probably used more pre load or rebound than is desired. That would require you to update your suspension.
Besides the bumps in turn 3 and 11, how does your suspension feel?

Having the right suspension will make a dif in tire wear. I'm getting pretty outta shape on some of the faster turns at NYST. I bottomed out in turn 11. It's way better that what it was before I had it setup. Right side up went as far as they could with tuning the stock suspension. Front will get done. I'll give them a call and ask about the rear shock.
I started getting much more consistent wear from my rear tires once I stopped being a tightass and upgraded the rear spring on my SV. Spring was one size too small. Bike handled radically better once I upped it.
